| "Ted - $9,500"
Robert Amft American (born 1916) Signed/Dated
Medium: Oil on Canvas Size: 31 x 24 inches Category: Figurative Type: Contemporary Art Under $10,000
Additional Information: As Jim Lutes said so perceptively in 2005, “When I just encountered Robert Amft’s paintings…I was shocked that they were made when they were. A few artists came to this point in the late ‘50s and ‘60s after exhausting their interest in pure abstraction while Amft made many of these in the late ‘30s and ’40s. To my eye, the paintings look as though they might have been made yesterday. They’re that fresh - clear in intent and disarmingly personal. These might be the least affected paintings I’ve ever seen. They are soulful and brutal and seem to come from another world…maybe the future, when all we are left with is the searing memory of the world we knew. He is way ahead of his time…”

| "Caribbean Launch #3 - $10,000"
Jerome Carlin American (born 1927) Signed
Medium: Oil on Canvas Size: 30 x 28 inches Category: Figurative Type: Contemporary Art Under $10,000
Additional Information: “My autobiographical paintings explore a particular American time and place using photographs and the filter of memory. The paintings focus on the experience of growing up in Chicago in an upper middle class Jewish milieu of the thirties and forties. They describe interior domestic scenes, large family gatherings and celebrations, vacations in Miami Beach and the Caribbean and scenes in Chicago restaurants and clubs. Although these canvases are based on black and white photographic images, I meant to capture more than a mere likeness. I intended to convey what it felt like to be present at that particular moment in time and place through a spontaneous response to the subject matter in the visual language of color, gesture and form.” Jerome Carlin

| "Cafe Lulu - $9,000"
Inge Clayton British Signed Artist
Medium: Oil on Metal Size: 56 x 44 inches Category: Expressionism Type: Contemporary Art Under $10,000
Additional Information: British critics are often quick to point out the European heritage in this painter’s work and have likened her to artists such as Otto Dix, Kokoshka, and perhaps George Grosz, but her nudes are sensuous and painterly in style, very much her own. Above all this connection to her roots is the most striking when one considers how powerful her nudes remain despite their naked or half-dressed abandonment and apparent vulnerability. There is nothing British and oblique about their gaze. Inge Clayton recently died unexpectedly on the weekend of July 17/18th, 2010. Her death is a great loss to so many. She will be dearly missed.

| "Day Break - $7,500"
Mark English American (born 1934) Signed Artist
Medium: Oil on Board Size: 18 x 24 inches Category: Expressionism Type: Contemporary Art Under $10,000
Additional Information: The recipient of over 100 awards from arts organizations nationwide, in 1967, Mark English was named “Artist of the Year” by the Artists Guild of New York. His work was always selected with remarkable regularity for the Society of Illustrators annual exhibitions and in 1983 the Society elected him to their prestigious Illustrators Hall of Fame. After a move to Kansas City, Missouri in 1977, English’s interest in the surrounding countryside began to predominate his paintings. Using simplified geometric shapes and abstract planes, he created rich patterns that reflect the topography and coloration of the land. These landscapes evoke remembered scenes and associative feelings rather than represent specific locations. In 1996, English began to concentrate on gallery paintings almost exclusively and soon found great success in this new venture. His works are coveted by art lovers and private collectors and have been shown in Canada, Japan and throughout the United States including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.
